1. Free!

When they were younger, Haruka Nanase and his friends Nagisa Hazuki, Makoto Tachibana, and Rin Matsuoka were the best at the swimming relay team in elementary school. As time went on, the team separates and heads to different schools. However, the crew reconnects in high school except Rin Matsuoka, who does not care about them at all. The three then create the Iwatobi High School Swim Club, but they were lacking a fourth member to complete the relay team. Here comes Rei Ryuugazaki, a track runner that lacked the fundamentals of swimming. With vigorous training, Rei is able to finally float and tread water. Will the team be able to return to their glory days with a new fourth member?

2. Fruits Basket

Based on the global manga phenomenon by Natsuki Takaya, Tohru Honda's life is thrown into chaos after a tragedy thrusts her into the Sohma family and their strange curse-under duress or physical contact from the opposite sex, they transform into an animal of the Chinese zodiac. The relations built between Tohru and these twelve colorful characters is sweet and heartwarming of themselves, but the love that transpires, and the love triangles that develop from them, is what really makes it an amazing romance.

Cynical and selfish Shizuku Mizutani cares about her grades and nothing else. All that changes when troublemaker Haru Yoshida comes into the picture and shakes her world up by confessing his love for her. She doesn’t even know HOW to feel. What does this relationship mean? 4. Hyouka

Houtaraou Oreki is energy conscious. No energy shall ever be wasted. Ever.  But on his sister’s request, Oreki joins the historical Classics Club. Little does he know that the club room is haunted by a 45 year old mystery. With his newfound club friends, Oreki and team are left to figure out the secrets and hidden information about the foundation that the club was built upon.

5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Kyon has never believed in supernatural things. They’re not practical and overall pretty lame. Haruhi Suzumiya, on the other hand, loves everything about the supernatural world. In their high school, there were no clubs dedicated to things like this, so they made one: THE SOS BRIGADE. With weirdos Itsuki Koizumi, Yuki Nagato, and Mikuru Asahina in their group, the SOS Brigade will go on supernatural adventures to discover new things and possibly themselves.

6. Clannad

A trouble maker named Tomoya Okazaki meets Nagisa Furukawa on the way to school. “ANPAN!” she screams as a motivator for herself. Tomoya thinks nothing of her at first, but continues to see her around school more often. He gives in and befriends her to find out she was held back a grade due to illness. Tomoya makes it his mission to help her accomplish her goals of bringing life to a drama club. With the help of four other girls, Tomoya creates the drama club. While helping Nagisa and the other girls, Tomoya learns to help himself in the process.

7. Toradora!

Ryuuji Takasu is a big nerd with something equivalent to the resting bitch face syndrome: resting smug face. Taiga Aisaka is quite the opposite of what she looks like. She’s strong willed and courageous with her wooden katana. It’s quite the surprise how these two cross paths. What’s more interesting is that it’s revealed that they both like the other’s best friends. Follow them as they scheme and try to set each other up for success!

8. Usagi Drop

Daikichi Kawachi is a lonely 30 year old male with nothing better to do with his life. One day his grandfather dies, so Daikichi goes home to pay respects to his grandfather. An unknown girl at the house reveals to be Rin, the illegitimate daughter of his grandfather! Nobody in the family wants to acknowledge or care for Rin. With a heavy heart, Daikichi is disgusted with his family’s irrational hatred toward Rin and he takes her in as his own family to care for her when no one else will.

9. K-On!

Hirasawa Yui signs up for the Light Music Club knowingly that she CAN’T PLAY AN INSTRUMENT! Upon joining, the already established club members Ritsu, Mio, and Tsumugi are left in disbelief that someone who doesn’t know how to play music wants to join. Additionally, they need her to stay so their club reaches the minimum member requirement! The members used the power of music to inspire Hirasawa Yui to stay so they can reach the minimum requirement and teach her how to play the guitar! With a school festival coming up, are they able to teach her fast enough AND well enough to perform?

Takeo Gouda is not your typical highschooler. He is big, strong, and unfortunately, ugly. Underneath all that ugly is his beautiful and kind heart that most seem to notice. Everybody loves him. School mates, his friends, and his parents. His best friend, Makoto Sunakawa, is quite the opposite juxtaposition. The pretty boy that girls swoon over. On a normal day on the train, Takeo notices that a cute girl, Rinko Yamato, is about to be sexually molested. He protects her from this pervert and earns her respect. She’s quick to realize that Takeo is the one she admires and loves. Will Takeo read the situations right?
